Becoming a parent is one of the dreams that most couples have. However, certain infertility concerns can make it difficult. This is exactly what happens with one of our patients. This blog discusses the journey of a 28-year-old woman who had been trying to conceive for 8 years & seeked out to us for infertility treatment. It involved multiple challenges, and an abnormal uterus and male infertility were two of the major changes that made conception difficult. 

But even after multiple unsuccessful treatments, they decided to approach Prime IVF centre in Delhi. At our clinic, we made the proper diagnosis and customized the entire IVF approach, which is how we help them fulfil their dream within a short period. 

Case Overview

  • The patient was a 28-year-old woman and had a history of 8 years of infertility. 
  • She had multiple unsuccessful attempts to conceive. 
  • Key concerns were primary infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, an abnormal uterine structure, and male factor infertility. 

How Prime IVF Evaluated the Case?

So, once they connected with Prime IVF Centre, the first step we took was to conduct detailed fertility assessments for both partners. We used ultrasound imaging, which revealed a bulky uterus, even though there was a comprehensive evaluation of the partner’s semen parameters, which were found to be abnormal.

After having these evaluations, our experts identified that the infertility was not due to a single cause. Both uterine and male factors were causing it. This clear diagnosis is what helped us create the right treatment strategy rather than repeating what had failed earlier. 

Treatment Approach at Prime IVF (IVF + ICSI + FET)

We combined three procedures: IVF, ICSI, and FET to make an effective treatment approach. 

  • IVF: In Vitro Fertilization
  • ICSI: Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
  • FET: Frozen Embryo Transfer

We chose the IVF process to manage the overall fertility process. At the same time, ICSI was selected to address male factor infertility by directly injecting a single sperm into the egg, which generally improved the fertilization chances. FET was planned as the following treatment: to enhance implantation by transferring embryos to a more suitable uterine environment.

Overall, we did not use a one-size-fits-all approach and created well-planned treatments for each stage, which gives us better control every time. This is how we managed to address both uterine and male factors together and increase the chances of a successful outcome. 

Step-by-Step Treatment Process at Prime IVF

Here is how the treatment was carried out across two cycles to optimize results:

  • So, the process began with ovarian stimulation. Medications were used to support the development of multiple eggs.
  • Once the eggs were ready, an egg retrieval procedure was performed. In this process, 10-12 eggs were successfully collected.
  • Then we began fertilizing these eggs using the ICSI technique to improve fertilization rates. The resulting embryos were closely monitored in the lab, and high-quality A++ grade embryos were obtained.
  • So, we did not plan an immediate transfer; we used a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET). Two embryos were transferred on the 20th day of the cycle. This provides better conditions for implantation and improves the chances of pregnancy.

After the embryo transfer, we scheduled a beta-hCG test.
